And so it begins. Today was the first day of shooting on our epic vampire western short film. What to say? Filmmaking is always a compromise. Even the best planning and effort put forth by the crew can be stymied by uncooperative weather. It was just too damn dark under the trees under the clouds. [...]

Yesterday we went out to Skyland Ranch which is providing the horse for the film. We spent the afternoon looking at horses, talking with our Wrangler, Pat, and checking out the immediate area for good shooting locations.
