“Tex” Production Diary – Day 4

day4

Today was probably the most complex shooting day we’ll have. Twenty-three cast and crew coming and going at various times. I must commend everyone for their patience. We did our best to schedule the shots so that waiting was minimized, but there is inevitably some downtime while lights get moved and shots set up.

There were a few things we missed that disappointed me, but that’s how it goes. It’s hard to remember every little thing in the midst of the chaos. I don’t want to micromanage everyone’s job, so I trust my crew. There were a couple shots that I forgot to get, and that’s just my fault. But you never know when something that seems like a mistake will actually turn out to be a blessing.

In all I think it was the most successful day of shooting. The girls were stunning, and I got a few buddies to play the cowboy Johns (and I had a cameo). I think it’s going to look fantastic. We’ll know when the film comes back from the lab.

Are you kidding? That was the most minimal waiting time in my experience. I’ve worked on a few SFI projects and I now officially love them. Very professionally ran. Because of you I feel like I would probably walk off a set that made me wait forever. (I once actually stayed on a set where we started shooting TWELVE HOURS
